As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth within the Pacific Northwest (Washington and Oregon State) territory by developing new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and collaborating closely with operations to ensure exceptional service delivery. This role focuses on expanding market share, strengthening client partnerships, and achieving strategic sales targets within the Traffic Control industry.


What you will be responsible for:

Account Management & Client Relationship Development

  • Serve as the principal point of contact for accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve a systematic approach to managing key accounts.
  • Build and foster a strong referral network to generate new revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Follow up with customers on open proposals, renewals, and action items from meetings.
  • Conduct regular client visits to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

Business Development & Revenue Growth:

  • Develop new business by analyzing account potential; initiating, developing, and closing sales opportunities.
  • Prospect and qualify leads within construction, infrastructure, utilities, municipal, and related sectors.
  • Recommend new applications, service enhancements, and tailored traffic control solutions.
  • Execute strategic territory plans to expand market share and exceed revenue targets.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.

Sales Strategy, Proposals & Contract Management

  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of pricing models, proposal structures, and service agreements.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and bids addressing identified client needs.
  • Gather and submit comprehensive business information for tenders and presentations.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and service agreements in alignment with company guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms, reporting requirements, and renewal timelines.

Operational Collaboration & Service Excellence

  • Lead and maintain strong sales-to-operations collaboration to ensure customer expectations and service requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with operations to confirm project feasibility, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Address service concerns promptly and support resolution to maintain client satisfaction.
  • Ensure smooth transition from contract execution to operational delivery.

Reporting, Forecasting & CRM Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up actions within CRM.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales forecasts to senior leadership.
  • Analyze pipeline metrics, proposal-to-close ratios, and territory performance data.
  • Contribute to annual territory planning and strategic growth discussions.

What we need from you:

  • 5+ years of experience in outside sales roles, specifically as an Account Manager, prioritizing new business development.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM, or HubSpot) and MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • History of delivering client-centric solutions to address diverse needs effectively.
  • Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
