As the Business Development Manager for Speakman, you will manage complex customers within a specific channel focus (Multi-Family, RMI Contractors, MRO, Wholesale Distribution, Hospitality) that cross over multiple territories through both spec agencies and distribution. Your primary responsibilities include executing strategies and enhancing customer relationships to grow the Southern Territory of the states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.This position is remote based with preference for the individual to live in the Southern Region near a national airport.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong understanding and experience of the distribution channel sales route to market and has direct experience in the building and construction industry, particularly with large regional accounts. You will also need to be able to travel approximately 75% or 3 weeks out of the month to customer locations.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement sales plans, encompassing market analysis, account opportunities, short and long-term goals, strategic initiatives, and measurable outcomes including individual account plans, specification and upgrade recommendations, and sales strategies for Speakman products.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across the business to retain existing business, secure national specifications, and improve margins.
  • Gain a deep understanding of each strategic account's business and its critical performance metrics, collaborating with the customer to acquire essential information and assess opportunities.
  • Analyze data and trends to develop insights that enhance customer retention, drive incremental revenue, and create a competitive advantage.
  • Ensure timely and effective responses to customer needs by mobilizing the organization, facilitating cross-functional involvement, and including relevant departments to benefit the customer.
  • Monitor and maintain consistent communication with relevant parties.
  • Coordinate the allocation of organizational resources to maximize sales opportunities.

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven sales or relevant experience.
  • Implicit understanding of focus channel sales route to market.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suites.
  • Ability to travel 75% or 3 weeks out of the month.

Preferred:

  • MBA
  • Large national account and sales experience in manufacturing and building products.

Target Compensation Range: The posted target pay range of $80,000 - $130,000.00 plus commission, represents the anticipated hiring range for this position. Actual starting salary will depend on geographic location, market conditions, internal equity, relevant experience, education, and job-related qualifications. Most candidates will receive an offer within the salary range applicable to their primary work location.
