Jones Walker, a prominent U.S. law firm, is seeking a Business Development Manager to support its Energy, Litigation, and Environmental practices. Serving as a trusted advisor to attorneys and practice leadership, this role will spearhead client development, cross-selling, and strategic growth initiatives across one of the firm's most dynamic industry sectors.
This high-impact position is well-suited for a strategic business development professional with deep knowledge of the Energy industry and the ability to translate complex legal and industry issues into compelling, client-facing materials. The Manager will identify market opportunities, develop strategic marketing initiatives, and help strengthen the firm's client relationships and competitive position.
The role in action:
  • Partner with attorneys and practice leaders on business development priorities, market opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage sponsorships, industry events, and client programs, collaborating with events and PR teams to maximize visibility, engagement, and ROI.
  • Strengthen practice visibility through thought leadership, rankings, awards, attorney branding, and targeted marketing initiatives.
  • Develop customized pitches, proposals, and client-facing marketing materials, leveraging competitive intelligence, market research, and firm resources.
  • Leverage technology, analytics, and relationship management tools to measure impact, optimize business development efforts, and support the growth of junior team members.

We are seeking candidates who:
  • Bring 5+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or other professional services settings; law firm experience preferred.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field. An advanced degree or J.D. is a plus.
  • Demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills, organization skills, a collaborative mindset, proficient technology capabilities including the use of AI, and a strong client-service orientation, with the ability to adapt to evolving business needs and deliver superior client service in a fast-paced environment.
