Senior Development Manager

Work Location: Anaheim, CA

Term: Regular, Full-time

Position Status: Exempt

Reports to: Director of Development

Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 commensurate with skills and experience

About the Role: The Senior Development Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing CAIR-LA's fundraising efforts including annual fundraising, donor development, digital fundraising plan and strategy and special events. The Senior Development Manager reports to the Director of Development and works closely with them to implement CAIR-LA's annual fundraising plan.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation of multi-channel fundraising initiatives through annual fundraising appeals, events, and campaigns (includes digital campaigns, social media, direct mail, crowd funding, and other channels)
  • Collaborate closely with the Communications team to create campaign assets including fundraising and program material
  • Manage the overall work of the Development team in implementing a comprehensive donor stewardship program that involves building processes, a pipeline and stewardship practices for program fundraising -- leveraging AI and automations when possible
  • Manage donor portfolio in collaboration with the Director of Development
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of the donor recognition programs with support from the Donor Experience Manager
  • Manage implementation and coordination of all special event activities including annual banquet, fundraisers, and donor events
  • Oversee the implementation and promotion of a planned giving program
  • Work alongside the Institutional Giving department and provide leadership and final sign off on grant and foundation applications
  • Manage a master calendar to reflect the communication with donors, special events, and campaigns
  • Secure sponsorship and advertisements for annual banquet and special events/programs
  • Oversee the implementation of the monthly donor program to include maintenance/engagement of existing donors and expansion of new donors with support from the Development Coordinator
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business/marketing or related field is preferred
  • Certificate in fundraising such as CRFM or CRFE preferred
  • 5-7 years of fund development experience required
  • 3-5 years of managing fundraising staff experience required
  • 5+ years of digital fundraising and platforms experience in the nonprofit sector
  • Experience in social justice-oriented and/or nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines
  • Must have strong initiative and demonstrate the ability to learn in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision
  • Grant Writing and Overseeing experience with the goal to scale our funding
  • Demonstrated experience of raising over 1 Million + for private funding from the community
  • A record of measurable results in organizing and implementing initiatives
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
