The Product Development Manager acts as a single point of contact for the evolving Commercial and Utility Truck products and services for the District(s) or Region. The Product Development Manager is the Commercial and Utility Truck liaison with National Account Managers, Government Account Managers, Strategic Account Managers, and Sales Representatives from all Company business units.

Will be a subject matter expert for the Commercial and Utility truck business line, providing training and support for internal United Rentals employees, and delivery of solutions to customers who seek efficiency within their owned equipment operations. The purpose of the position is to drive incremental profitable revenue for the Company within all assigned areas, and target accounts, while driving customer entanglement in order to support, and solidify, customer relationships. In addition, the Product Development Manager, will be asked to work closely with District and Branch operations and sales leaders in promoting the full Commercial and Utility Truck service offering.

What you'll do: Target and focus on the development of the Commercial and Utility Truck product and service offerings within an assigned District(s) Work with applicable internal sales team(s) members to develop market specific customer relationships and drive incremental Commercial and Utility Truck revenue Manage Commercial and Utility Truck projects Provide project management for all truck vertical opportunities on key infrastructure and power projects. Develop plan to deploy additional truck assets on hi-rail setups Assist BM in developing & conducting training for sales staff, focusing on product familiarization. Assist and coordinate with DM/Fleet Manager in Fleet planning activities and order fulfilment Assist with purchasing and procurement Develop Commercial truck and utility location processes and create consistency Coach other leaders within district/region on best practices Conduct In-service and operator familiarization on site as needed Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education 7+ years' sales experience, preferably in branch or sales management and with large account experience selling complex solutions Operations experience, specific to equipment operations, is highly desirable Strong planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills Excellent interpersonal, communication and proficient computer skills Independent with strong research and organizational skills Knowledge of construction or related equipment is preferred; however, candidates with comparable industry experience, a strong sales acumen and record of achievement will also be considered Travel 50% and reside within close proximity to an airport for frequent travel This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
