HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

The Business Development Manager (BDM) in Ferrotec's Thermal Systems BU is responsible for driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets within an assigned geographical area, vertical markets, or specific products. This role involves managing and developing customer relationships, implementing strategic sales plans, and leading the sales process from prospecting to closing. The BDM works closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction, identify market opportunities, and align sales efforts with organizational goals.

Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility. Enable and Drive Change in the Organization.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Sales - Primary responsibility is to generate revenue and increase market share by identifying and selling to prospective accounts through research and networking. Activities include program management, account development and establishing maintaining key relationships for new and existing accounts. Meet assigned revenue and profitability targets.
  • Account Management - Maintains relationships for new and existing accounts in order to protect and grow existing business opportunities. This includes developing key account plans to align resources to support company growth objectives with major customers/opportunities.
  • Product - Identifies the need for new products. Works with Marketing, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D to assist in new product development initiatives targeted to the needs of the key account(s).
  • Manufacturing - generates both short-term and long-term rolling forecasts for revenue and product / volume mix.
  • Marketing Communications - Gives input to the marketing group to support the goal of establishing and implementing promotional, advertising, and communication strategies.
  • Competition - Benchmarks our products with the competition from a technical and business perspective. Monitors competitive forces that could compromise our position.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • BS degree or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of professional experience including 5+ years of sales management experience, preferably Thermal Systems and Chillers.
  • Proven ability to generate new business and manage the full sales cycle independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across technical and commercial stakeholders
  • Highly organized, with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM systems and standard business tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Represent Ferrotec at industry trade shows.
