Student Success Coach Lead Interns leads and assists with special projects as assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Student Success Coach Lead Intern is distinguished from Student Success Coach Intern in that they are responsible for providing instruction, supervision, and coordination to student Success Coaches. This position requires frequent use of a high degree of independent judgement in making decisions within established rules and procedures.

Works very closely with the area director to ensure all objectives of the department are being met. There are three levels and each requires a different level of education. Entry Level: Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's program.

Journey Level: Must have a Bachelor's degree and currently enrolled in a Master's program. Advanced Journey Level: Must have a Master's degree and currently enrolled in a Doctoral program. For candidates looking to go the Counseling Route, you must be currently enrolled in a Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, Marriage and Family Therapist(MFT), or Social Work from an accredited institution.

The hourly range for this classification is $25.00 - $28.00. If selected you will work with your department hiring manager to discuss salary placement depending on your experience and education levels as outlined in Job Description. This is an in-person job and candidates will be asked to work at either the Liberal Arts Campus or the Trade, Technology, and Community Learning Campus

Coaches are required to work a maximum of 20 hours per week throughout the Fall and Spring semesters and Summer intersession. Winter Intersession will be optional. Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. In collaboration with the area lead, the Lead Success Coach will assist in assigning tasks to success coaches related to area activities, including case management of students and development of workshops. Leads, creates and coordinates workshops and classroom presentations. Attends comprehensive training and professional development throughout the semester.

Leads discussions with coaches and students based on predetermined topics and provide referrals to appropriate programs and services based on student needs. Leads weekly scheduled meetings with coaches and distribute same-day documentation of the meeting, including emailing the agenda and recording meeting notes. Leverages technology to manage a caseload of students to improve academic outcomes tied to the area of focus.

This includes assisting students with matriculation steps, supporting matriculation events, registration assistance, and connecting students with appropriate campus resources. Leads and manages a caseload of students on Starfish Early Alert to provide support and referral assistance to the appropriate resource centers. Assists with special projects as assigned by the area lead which may include supporting events from the office of Student Equity, Student Services, chaperoning transfer tours, registration assistance labs, summer bridge programming, etc.

Ensure coaches are updating Key Performance Indicators and timesheet logs. Coordinates and creates marketing collateral and how-to guides for students and coaches. Collaborate with campus partners and coaches in creating content for the FYE Newsletter.

Create business process guides which give clear instructions to coaches regarding the step-by-step processes of coach responsibilities. Qualifications A COMPLETE APPLICATION INCLUDES: A Long Beach Community College District Online Application A current resume or curriculum vitae. Enrolled as a full-time student during main terms (Fall and Spring with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher) Evidence of demonstrated cultural competency and enthusiasm in serving the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial, and cultural backgrounds of community college student populations, including students with differing abilities (physical and/or learning), as these factors relate to the need for equity minded. Previous attendance in a community college is highly desired. The hourly range for this classification is $25.00 - $28.00
