Job Description
APTech has up to four (4) immediate openings for hard-working, well-organized Engineering Interns to work on a variety of airport and roadway projects. These temporary positions will be located either in APTech's corporate office in Champaign, Illinois, or our Waunakee, WI (Madison area) office. These will require occasional multi-day travel. Engineering Interns support Civil engineers in facilitating field data collection activities, conducting pavement testing assessments, and supporting other project related work across the United States.
Responsibilities:
Engineering Interns are responsible for:
  • Conducting pavement inspections.
  • Creating and updating two-dimensional mappings.
  • Managing database developments and indexing.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), and good overall computer hardware and software skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Flexibility to travel, work weekends, and overtime as necessary. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
  • Course work or a degree in civil engineering, with a concentration in transportation materials.
  • Knowledge of pavement materials and pavement design and construction practices.
  • GIS and AutoCAD experience

Compensation:
$21.00-$23.00 per hour. Engineering Internswill receive paid travel expenses and per diem allowance for meals.
