Every Body Athletics (EBA) is a nonprofit dedicated to improving the physical, social, and emotional well-being of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) through inclusive group exercise. Serving adults aged 21 and over who have aged out of special education, EBA offers adaptive programs designed by experts with backgrounds in Special Education and specialized personal training. Classes prioritize inclusion with teammates without disabilities, fostering community and meaningful participation. EBA operates with the core belief that everyone is an athlete and promotes the benefits of holistic exercise that nurtures physical, social, and emotional health. Based on inclusivity, EBA aims to create an impact for its participants and the larger community.


Position Purpose

The Development Director will lead Every Body Athletics’ fundraising efforts to support organizational growth, program expansion, and long-term sustainability. This role will cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporations, and foundations. The Development Director will oversee major gifts, lead the EBA Development Team, and play a key role in the organization’s annual fundraising event. The Development Director will work closely with the EBA Executive Director to advance strategic priorities, strengthen organizational capacity, and enable EBA to serve more adults with ID/DD.

General Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve annual revenue goals.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors across all giving levels to ensure long-term giving
  • Designing and overseeing various fundraising initiatives, including major donor cultivation, corporate and foundation relations, and capital campaigns
  • Manage elements of annual fundraising event, including pre-event cultivation, event execution, and post-event follow-up
  • Manage donor database and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of contributions and engagement
  • Work with the Executive Director to identify and manage foundation grants and other funding opportunities
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to development staff and volunteers, ensuring efficient and effective operations
  • Enhancing the organization's public image and ensuring its story is effectively communicated to potential supporters

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant experience, education, and training
  • Minimum three years of development experience (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and organizational skills
