At Flexport, we believe global trade can move the human race forward. That's why it's our mission to make global commerce so easy there will be more of it. We're shaping the future of a $10T industry with solutions powered by innovative technology and exceptional people. The recent global supply chain crisis has put Flexport center stage as we continue to play a pivotal role in how goods move around the world. We are proud to have the support of the best investors in the game who believe in our mission, solutions and people. Ready to tackle global challenges that impact business, society, and the environment? Come join us.

Grow Flexport's LCL and Buyers Consolidation business across North America.

The Opportunity:

Flexport's Ocean Consolidation Solutions team helps North America clients ship smaller, more frequent orders through Less-than-Container-Load (LCL) and buyers consolidation programs. Global trade keeps shifting toward smaller shipments, and demand for flexible consolidation options keeps growing. We are building the sales motion, client relationships, and operational processes to capture this opportunity.

We are looking for a Senior Business Development Associate to drive new business and expand existing accounts in our LCL and Buyers Consolidation product lines. You will own sourcing, prospecting, pricing and deal generation. You will also partner with our APAC product and operations teams to build processes that scale and improve the client experience. This role fits someone who wants to grow a high-growth product in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

You Will:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for LCL and Buyers Consolidation services, support demand teams by identifying, developing, presenting and closing business.
  • Act as a liaison between product teams and demand to support the sales process, including building sales collateral, client messaging and product placement in bids
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to close, and grow volume and scope with existing North America clients
  • Bid management and strategy development for long term pricing, including attainment tracking
  • Partner with APAC product and operations teams to build processes that raise service quality, consistency and pricing for North America clients
  • Learn Flexport's LCL and buyers consolidation value proposition and pitch it to prospects and existing clients
  • Improve the sales playbook and flag process gaps that slow deal velocity
  • Give leadership regular updates on pipeline, bookings, and volume growth against target
  • Work with Sales, Client Solutions, and Product teams to resolve client issues and find cross-sell opportunities

You Should Have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales or business development; ocean freight or LCL experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of LCL, buyers consolidation, or ocean freight forwarding
  • A track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product and operations teams across time zones, including APAC
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Independent, proactive, and self-motivated
