Overview:

We are seeking an Information Technology Project Manager with extensive experience in leading financial management IT project teams in support of the Federal Government. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of successful contract delivery and serve as the primary point of contact with government stakeholders. This role requires strong leadership, planning, management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of program execution for an Air Force financial system, including development, operations, and maintenance (O&M).
  • Manage a cross-functional team that is split between Florida and California
  • Lead overall contract performance, staffing, and risk management.
  • Serve as the primary interface with Government leadership and work closely with stakeholders to gather project requirements
  • Manage cost, schedule, scope, and performance in alignment with contract requirements and program objectives.
  • Craft and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, quality control plans, risk assessments, metrics reports, technical documentation, and status reports.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and outcomes.
  • Facilitate effective communication channels across the project team and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive project execution strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD/USSF IA policy, Section 508, safety, key/physical security, records management, data rights, and OCI requirements.
  • Oversee contingency/disaster recovery planning and data safeguarding.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Exceptional leadership skills, evidenced by past success in leading multidisciplinary teams toward achieving project objectives within tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Mastery of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile) and tools, ensuring efficient project execution and delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, identifying risks and obstacles early, and developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging with stakeholders at all levels, facilitating teamwork, and ensuring clear and effective project communication.
  • 10+ years managing IT or financial systems programs
  • 5+ years leading government projects
  • Experience with PL/SQL and general account knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge working with financial management systems and Oracle databases; direct experience with JOCAS is a plus
  • Proficiency with DoD oversight, deliverable management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Strong schedule/budget control and metrics-driven performance management skills.
  • Prior experience leading Air Force projects is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field.
  • PMI / PMP certification is desired.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active Secret clearance at time of hire; must be maintained for the life of the contract.

Other Requirements:

  • Located onsite at Patrick Space Force Base in Florida, with occasional travel to Vandenberg Space Force Base in California
