The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with United Activities Unlimited (UAU) to find qualified candidates for a Program Coordinator in Staten Island, NY. United Activities Unlimited (UAU) has been serving Staten Island and surrounding communities for more than four decades through a wide range of youth, family, and community-based programs. The organization provides afterschool programs, workforce development, family support services, educational enrichment, and prevention programs designed to promote positive outcomes for individuals and communities. UAU is committed to creating opportunities that strengthen families, empower youth, and support diverse communities.


The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and organizing activities that support participants' physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development. This position provides direct support to the Program Director and Assistant Program Director to help ensure high-quality programming and daily operations. The Program Coordinator supervises staff, supports youth development activities, maintains program documentation, and helps create a safe, engaging, and positive environment for participants.

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.


  • Supervise and support staff and participants to maintain a safe, structured, and engaging program environment.
  • Coordinate and assist with the planning and implementation of youth development activities and community-based programs.
  • Maintain accurate participant records, attendance documentation, and required data entry in compliance with DYCD guidelines.
  • Communicate with participants, families, staff, and community partners to support program engagement.
  • Promote participants' social, emotional, and behavioral development through a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with participant arrival, dismissal, daily operations, and preparation of program spaces.
  • Implement positive behavior management strategies while serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Follow Department of Health, OCFS, DYCD, and UAU safety protocols and procedures to support program compliance.

  • High school diploma or GED. required
  • Associate degree or current enrollment in an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children or at-risk youth ages 13–18.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Commitment to a strength-based, youth-centered approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Must successfully pass all required reference checks and background screenings as designated by the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), and United Activities Unlimited (UAU).
