The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) is dedicated to creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for all students. We are seeking a dedicated Vacation Station Facilitator - Special Needs to help maintain and enhance the quality of our school-age programs.
Job Summary
The Vacation Station Facilitator - Special Needs supports the Program Coordinator and Assistant Program Coordinator in planning and supervising a school-age program at an elementary school site. This role is crucial in creating an enriching environment that promotes both academic and social development for students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Adapt and Modify Activities: Adjust and adapt classroom activities as needed to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support Adaptive Skills: Assist students with developing adaptive skills, including managing personal belongings, buttoning, snapping, and bathroom routines.
  • Monitor Lunch and Social Skills: Oversee and support students during lunch, focusing on developing positive lunch habits and social interaction skills.
  • Facilitate Transitions: Help students during transitional periods to make these transitions less challenging and stressful.
  • Implement Modified Lesson Plans: Collaborate with teaching staff to create and implement modified lesson plans tailored to the specific needs of individual students.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); completion of 60 college credits in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Relevant job-related experience desired.
