Job description

Position Description

Manages and oversees the overall program budgets, actual costs, forecasts, and cost contingency.
Collects and reports out on budgets, Commitments, actuals, incurred, contingency, and forecast costs.
Works with project management to complete projects within the allocated budget. Identifies cost-saving opportunities and mitigating financial risks in coordination with the risk management team.
Maintains the cost control system and following cost management procedures.
Analyzes cost data to identify trends and discrepancies.
Collects cost impacts for potential changes and implementing changes upon approval.
Reviews contractor invoices for compliance with contract from a financial perspective.
Overseas the cost management team to ensure alignment and support is being provided across the program appropriately and effectively.
Develops, maintains, and improves cost management processes, procedures, guidelines, and templates. Works closely with Amtrak Finance

Preferred Qualification

  • Financial acumen, project cost management expertise, attention to detail, good communication skills, good problem-solving skills.
  • Expert with MS Excel and experience with project management software or cost control systems.
  • 15 Minimum Years of Experience required.
  • Transit experience required

Degree Requirement for Position

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or relevant discipline, or, equivalent combination of post secondary education and training

Expected Position Start Date: 3/17/2025

Position Location: A minimum: 3 days per week in person at the Integrated Program Office in Baltimore

Salary Range: $94,625- $160,137 YR
