The Ascend Program is a comprehensive early career development program designed for recent college graduates who are eager to begin a rewarding career in the commercial insurance industry. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development, participants will gain the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to build a successful career within one of the nation's most dynamic industries.

Throughout the program, Associates will rotate through key areas of Commercial Lines insurance, gaining exposure to risk management, client service, underwriting, sales, carrier relationships, claims, and insurance operations. Participants will also attend The Hartford School to obtain their Property & Casualty Producer License while building a strong foundation in commercial insurance principles.

  • Participate in a structured training curriculum focused on Commercial Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Successfully complete licensing requirements and obtain a Property & Casualty Producer License.

  • Rotate through various Commercial Lines departments to gain exposure to insurance operations and client service.
  • Learn insurance fundamentals including:
    • Risk assessment
    • Commercial insurance coverages
    • Policy structure and interpretation
    • Marketing and carrier placement
    • Underwriting fundamentals
    • Claims management
    • Client relationship management
  • Shadow experienced Account Managers, Producers, and Risk Advisors during client meetings and renewal strategy discussions.
  • Assist with policy reviews, renewal preparation, proposals, certificates of insurance, and policy servicing.
  • Develop strong relationships with colleagues, insurance carriers, and clients.
  • Participate in networking events, team meetings, and professional development sessions.
  • Complete assigned projects and presentations throughout the program.
  • Demonstrate continuous learning, professionalism, accountability, and collaboration.
