Job description

As the Associate, Impact Programs at United Way of Greater Cincinnati, you’ll provide operational support for housing security and financial empowerment programs and initiatives through direct program support. This includes working with our Access to Counsel (ATC) and Stable Families programs, both focused on helping families achieve stability and avoid eviction, and our Free Tax Prep initiative, focused on helping families achieve stability through tax preparation services. The Associate will also be the primary lead for Community Kit logistics and management, providing key stakeholder agencies with vital supplies for individuals and families in need. In this role, you’ll support program operational needs, data tracking, communication, and support distribution events. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is detail-oriented, curious, community-oriented and passionate about making a difference.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Support Network Coordination
  • Support the Manager of Housing Security to keep ATC and Stable Families partners connected and aligned.
  • Preceding and during the tax season (approximately October – April) support a subset of Free Tax Prep sites; duties will include complete required forms, establish calendars, obtain supplies and manage volunteers.
  • Hold weekly meetings with Site Coordinators, disseminating operational requirements and help as appropriate.
  • Visit assigned tax sites to prep for IRS site visits. Manage a network of partner organizations and affiliate organizations that utilize UWGC Community Kits and support annual summer backpack distribution events.
  • Help schedule meetings, draft notes, assist with follow-up tasks, and basic reports.
  • Support collaboration by ensuring clear communication across networks.
Assist with Outcome Data and Reporting
  • Help collect and organize data from partners.
  • Support quality checks on data and help prepare basic reports.
  • Learn and use CRM and data platforms to track progress and share updates.
  • Support the tracking of common goals across the network.
  • Keep records organized and updated to reflect our progress toward these goals.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement, Learning, and Collaboration
  • Gather feedback from partners and help identify areas where we can improve.
  • Support simple process updates to make our work more efficient.
  • Help ensure all partners feel supported and heard; assist with partner’s data requests for grant writing or other needs.
Volunteer Recruitment, Management and Training
  • Help recruit, train, and retain volunteers.
  • Support FTP team management of AmeriCorps NCCC and corporate volunteer groups.
Provide Operational Support
  • Support day-to-day tasks that help ATC and Stable Families run effectively, such as payment requests and documentation review.
  • Manage technology and supply inventory for FTP sites; canvas sites for supply needs and support supply delivery or pick-up, pre- and post-tax season.
  • Create, customize, and maintain individual web-based appointment calendars for tax sites.
  • During tax season, manage the Free Tax Prep virtual site, to include holding weekly meetings, managing intake and return flow, and conducting client communication as necessary.
  • Provide coordination and support for the management of resource kit and backpack distribution, including managing supply logistics, kit distribution, and partner communication and coordination.
  • Help share updates with internal and external audiences.
  • Support financial reconciliation efforts and data requests for internal and external partners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must be able to certify as an IRS advanced volunteer tax preparer and site coordinator (training provided).
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Local travel to events within the regional area; some out-of-town travel for national conferences or training.
  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like.
  • 3-5 days of alternative work hours (evenings and Saturdays) per month during tax season and pre-season (Nov – April).
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Extended viewing of computer monitors and frequent use of technology.
SALARY: $45,106 plus competitive benefits package
