Job description

The Texas Renaissance Festival is seeking outgoing individuals to join our team as Program Hawkers for the 2026 Festival season. Program Hawkers interact with patrons at the front festival gate and courtyard while selling official souvenir programs and ponchos. This is a customer-facing position that rewards strong sales skills and a positive attitude.
Season Information

  • Seasonal position only
  • Festival operates 8 weekends, October 10 – November 29, including Friday, November 27
  • Mandatory training day on September 19th
  • Mandatory dress rehearsal on October 3rd
  • King's English is required for this position
Responsibilities

  • Sell official Texas Renaissance Festival souvenir programs and ponchos
  • Actively engage with patrons in a friendly, enthusiastic manner
  • Accurately handle sales transactions
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent the Festival positively
Work Environment & Requirements

  • This is an outdoor position requiring prolonged walking and standing.
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold, and wet weather conditions.
  • Renaissance-period costuming is required throughout the workday. Unless otherwise noted, employees are responsible for providing their own costume.
  • This position is paid hourly plus commission.
