Job Description

BKV Group seeks a talented, experienced, and expert Justice Practice Leader and Associate Partner to support BKV Group’s Government Practice in Minneapolis. We are looking for someone with well‑rounded architecture experience in all aspects of design and documentation with an emphasis leading County Jail and Courthouse projects. This position is responsible for project planning, project management, and marketing our services and developing new clients. BKV Group uses a marketer–doer business model that values your expertise as a senior architectural practitioner, allowing you to maintain strong client relationships while leading and managing projects.

Project Planning

  • Fully understand the client goals, objectives, and what a successful project looks like for the client.
  • Develop an operational program and space list.
  • Lead conceptual planning of projects working in conjunction with the Senior Architectural Designer.
  • Use your unique skillset, background, training, and talents to optimize solutions for assigned projects.

Project Management

  • Act as lead driver for projects and primary point of contact with project clients.
  • Consult with clients and project manager to determine project scope, budget, and schedule of project.
  • Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working environment with project manager and design staff.
  • Monitor financial success of projects and assess need for additional services from client.

Marketing Services

  • Research target markets & competitors (emphasis in IL, MI, WI, IN, IA, & MO).
  • Identify prospects (emphasis in IL, MI, WI, IN, IA & MO).
  • Develop relationship marketing with prospects during pre‑sales / pre‑referendum period – using calls, meetings, developing / extending collateral for their use.
  • Messaging for marketing content.
  • Messaging for proposals and interviews, writing portions of the proposal, QC of proposal content.
  • Mentor staff on programming and planning topics.
  • Mentor more experienced staff on project management, technical matters, and marketing services and training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree.
  • Professional License with NCARB certification, LEED AP preferred.
  • 15‑20+ years progressive, related project experience and proven leadership experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of Revit. Experience with Unanet software and Microsoft Project preferred.

Compensation range: $130,000 – $150,000 annually, or commensurate with experience.
