Job Title: Patient Benefits Analyst

Position Summary
seeking two Patient Benefits Analysts to support Revenue Cycle operations. The selected candidates will be responsible for analyzing patient coverage, documenting insurance information within Epic, identifying revenue cycle trends across multiple clinic locations, and recommending process improvements to optimize patient responsibility collections and third-party reimbursement. This role requires strong expertise in insurance benefit interpretation, revenue cycle operations, coverage discovery, and Epic Patient Billing (PB).
Key Responsibilities
  • Review coverage discovery results for scheduled patient appointments and determine patient financial responsibility.
  • Accurately document insurance coverage and benefit information within Epic.
  • Analyze trends related to coverage discovery and point-of-service patient responsibility collections across 88 clinic locations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient responsibility collections and third-party payment processes.
  • Develop recommendations for revenue cycle process enhancements and operational efficiencies.
  • Communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to clinical and operational leadership.
  • Support revenue cycle reporting, system logic analysis, claims adjudication review, data analysis, and end-user training activities.
  • Interpret Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) responses and insurance benefit information.
  • Collaborate with clearinghouses and third-party coverage discovery solutions to improve reimbursement outcomes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree required.
  • RHIA, RHIT, or CPC certification required.
  • Epic Patient Billing (PB) experience required; Epic certification preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Epic.
  • Subject Matter Expert (7+ years) experience in Revenue Cycle and Clearinghouse operations.
  • Subject Matter Expert (7+ years) experience in Insurance Benefit Interpretation.
  • Experience with:
    • Revenue cycle reporting
    • Revenue cycle build and workflow logic
    • Claims adjudication
    • Revenue cycle data analysis
    • Revenue cycle training
    • Clearinghouse operations
    • Third-party coverage discovery
    • Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) interpretation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public health, community health, physician clinic, FQHC, or RHC revenue cycle environments.
