Actuarial Business Analyst III
Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Actuarial Business Analyst III is responsible for completing very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies. This role is a relatively technical position in Cost of Care analysis, acting as expert in a business or functional area, as well as being involved in coding, maintaining, and updating UM Impact models.. Types of analyses include performing sophisticated retrospective data analytics; building or validating new and modifying existing complex models; performing healthcare cost analysis to value strategies to control costs. Provides expert advice, analytic and consultative support, working on complex enterprise-wide initiatives as project lead or co-lead.
How You Will Make an Impact
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.
  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists. Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.

Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics or related field and a minimum of 5 years related experience in an actuarial environment performing financial reporting, rate development, evaluation of risk contingencies and trend projections; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
  • Experience specific to group insurance or health insurance environments or graduate level related education may also be used to offset some years of experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced expertise with software such as SAS Stat, SAS ETS, SAS Enterprise Miner or equivalents(Python, R, etc) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Teradata, SQL, SQL Server, or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • The ability to present meaningful results to a business audience, to participate collaboratively in a team tasked to produce complex analyses on a rigorous schedule, to communicate with strong written and verbal communications skills strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $94,560 to $141,840.
