Job description

We are looking for a dependable Program Aide (Graveyard) to support front desk operations for a nonprofit housing program in Redwood City, California. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is calm, service-oriented, and comfortable assisting visitors and residents during overnight hours. The person in this role will help maintain an organized, welcoming environment while handling administrative tasks and supporting daily site needs.


The hours are Fridays at 11:30pm into Saturday at 7:30am and Saturday 11:30pm into Sunday 7:30am.


Responsibilities:

• Manage the reception area during the graveyard shift, serving as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and deliveries.

• Welcome guests professionally, complete visitor screening procedures, and respond to general questions with a high level of customer care.

• Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, food deliveries, and donated items to the appropriate areas.

• Enter and update information accurately in tracking logs and other records to support smooth site operations.

• Assist with resident check-in and check-out activities and help ensure required procedures are followed consistently.

• Support site coverage by stepping in during staff breaks and meal periods as needed.

• Help residents access medications in accordance with established site procedures and staff guidance.

• Complete overnight bed checks and conduct routine walks throughout the interior and exterior of the facility to promote safety.

• Monitor shared spaces, replenish day room supplies, and document concerns or rule violations when follow-up is required.

• At least 1 year of experience in administrative support, reception, customer service, or a related position.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully with a diverse population.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy when handling records, logs, and routine administrative work.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer data entry tasks.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team during overnight or late-shift coverage.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, sound judgment, and reliability in a client-facing setting.
