Responsibilities

As a key member of the nursing team, you will provide restorative nursing techniques to those residents assigned to improve the resident's quality of life through structured treatment modalities.ย  Responsibilities include:

1.ย  Performs programs on all identified residents. To include but not limited to:ย 

  • Range of motion (passive/active)
  • General strengthening exercises
  • Ambulation and transfer training
  • ADL's
  • Nursing whirlpools as assigned
  • Placement of restorative devices and equipment
  • Positioning
  • Restorative feeding program

ย 2.ย  Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.

ย 3.ย ย Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy departmentย of ย problems, referrals or reassessments needed.

ย 4.ย  Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident'sย  condition or motivational level.

ย 5. Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.

ย 6.ย  Attends meetings and in-services as required.

ย 7.ย  Serves as a resident advocate at all times. Motivates others.

Qualifications
  • Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
  • Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
  • A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.
