Dietary Aide

At Brookshire Nursing and Rehabilitation, we are committed to delivering outstanding care and fostering strong employee bonds. We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Dietary Aide to join our team!

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Dietary Aide to support our dietary services in our long-term care, nursing home, and rehabilitation center settings. As a Dietary Aide, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment, and supporting residents' nutritional needs under the direction of the dietary manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to planned menus and dietary guidelines

  • Deliver meal trays to residents and assist with dining as needed

  • Set up and break down dining areas and steam tables

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment; maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen

  • Follow special diet orders and food preparation instructions accurately

  • Store food and supplies properly to maintain freshness and safety

  • Report any resident concerns or observations to the dietary manager or nursing staff

  • Complete forms, logs, and records as required

Requirements:

  • Experience in a food service or healthcare dietary setting is a plus!

  • Successful completion of a training and competency evaluation program required

  • Completion of orientation required by company policy

  • Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment

  • Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire

  • Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check

  • Become familiar with and comply to all local, state, and federal regulations relating to the job

  • Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment

  • Food Handler's Certification (as required by state)
