About the Role
The Department of Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center invites applications for an Assistant to Full Professor in Breast Oncology to join a nationally recognized multidisciplinary breast cancer program within an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. This is an exciting opportunity to practice at the forefront of breast oncology while contributing to innovative clinical research, translational discovery, and academic leadership.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive breast oncology care within a collaborative outpatient-focused practice supported by an experienced team of advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary specialists across breast surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and translational science. This role offers meaningful opportunities for leadership within breast oncology programs, guidance of early phase clinical trials, and development of robust clinical and translational research initiatives.
Under the leadership of Renier Brentjens, Chair of the Department of Medicine, physicians are empowered to build innovative academic programs and collaborate closely with outstanding clinical, basic science, and population science investigators across Roswell Park.
What You'll Do
• Provide comprehensive patient-centered breast oncology care primarily within the outpatient setting with select inpatient responsibilities
• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans for patients receiving standard-of-care and protocol-driven therapeutic interventions
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary breast oncology teams including breast surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, genetics, and supportive care specialists
• Participate in multidisciplinary breast clinics and tumor boards supporting coordinated and innovative patient care
• Contribute to high-quality, evidence-based breast cancer treatment and survivorship care
• Participate in and help guide breast oncology clinical trials, including early phase therapeutic studies
• Develop and contribute to clinical, translational, and basic science research initiatives
• Collaborate with investigators across clinical, laboratory, and population science programs
• Pursue scholarly activities including publications, presentations, and grant-supported research initiatives
• Support innovative therapeutic development and translational breast cancer discovery
• Teach and mentor Hematology & Oncology fellows, residents, medical students, and trainees
• Participate in academic conferences, lectures, and institutional educational initiatives
• Foster a collaborative and intellectually rigorous academic environment emphasizing mentorship and continuous learning
• Support faculty development and academic growth initiatives within the department
• Foster strong multidisciplinary relationships across clinical and research programs
• Participate in departmental and institutional committees and strategic initiatives
• Support a culture aligned with High Reliability Organization principles emphasizing innovation, accountability, compassion, patient safety, and teamwork

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
License or Certification Requirement
Candidates must be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or eligible in Medical Oncology and be able to meet licensure requirements in New York State. Exceptional foreign medical graduates will be considered.
Medical Doctor degree in the field of General Internal Medicine.
