Summary of Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include full-time teaching and advising students in the occupational safety and health program. Related duties include university services, conducting scholarship/research, participating in curriculum development, pursuing grant opportunities, building relationships with local industry, and recruitment of students, along with other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education RequirementsPh.D. in Occupational Safety and Health or related field is required. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.
Minimum Experience and Skill RequirementsCandidate must be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate-level coursework related to occupational health and safety. Successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to effectively contribute to a collaborative academic environment. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Preferred Education and/or Experience QualificationsProfessional certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), and OSHA Authorized Trainer (Construction and/or General Industry) are strongly preferred. Those with relevant teaching experience in higher education or industrial training as well as experience with online teaching platforms and methodologies, are preferred for their ability to contribute practical expertise to the program.
