Job description

Full-Time Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Health Economics to join our interdisciplinary and collaborative
faculty team. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research, teaching, and service
activities; develop and sustain externally funded research programs; collaborate across disciplines; and
support the school's mission of advancing population health through innovative, evidence-based
solutions.

Candidates should possess a PhD in Economics, Health Economics, Health Informatics, Health Care Policy, Public Health, Health Services Research, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field, with experience commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor. Preferred qualifications include expertise in one or more of the following areas: health economics, health informatics and artificial intelligence, aging and dementia, rural health, and health policy.

The successful candidate should demonstrate the potential to develop a sustained research agenda, secure external funding, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the educational mission of the school through teaching, advising, and mentorship. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and lead research programs in health economics, health informatics and artificial intelligence, aging and dementia, rural health, and health policy.

Design, conduct, and evaluate research studies that inform the effective use of healthcare information, resources, and public health interventions.

Perform economic evaluations, cost-benefit analyses, cost-effectiveness analyses, and health economic modeling for healthcare programs, public health initiatives, and policy decisions.

Develop and maintain an active research and publication agenda and seek external funding from federal, state, foundation, and industry sources.

Analyze, prepare, and disseminate research reports, peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and other scholarly products;

Teach one to two courses annually in areas such as health economics, Health informatics, healthcare financing, health program evaluation, health technology assessment, health policy, and related subjects.

Provide educational programs, lectures, workshops, and training activities during the academic year and the summer semester.
