Job Description: Video Editor (Performance Creative)

About the Company

Our client is one of the fastest-growing consumer brands in the gifting space. Over the past year, the marketing organization has grown rapidly as the business continues to expand its product offerings and invest heavily in creative.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, in-house creative team at a time when the company is scaling. You'll have the opportunity to contribute across the broader production process from concept development and creative strategy to larger commercial productions as the team continues to grow.

The Role

We're looking for a Video Editor with a strong creative eye and a passion for performance marketing. You'll own the editing of paid social creative across Meta, TikTok, and other digital channels while collaborating closely with Creative Strategists, Producers, and Performance Marketers to bring campaigns to life.

This isn't a role for someone who simply executes an editing brief. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving creative problems, shaping narratives from raw footage, and bringing their own ideas to the table.

As the team continues to scale, there will be opportunities to expand beyond editing into areas like creative strategy, production, concept development, and commercial content.

What You'll Do

  • Edit high performing paid social video creative across Meta, TikTok, and other performance channels.
  • Build compelling ads from raw footage, finding the strongest story rather than simply following a script.
  • Create multiple hook and creative variations to support testing and optimization.
  • Collaborate with Performance Marketing and Creative Strategy teams to develop new concepts.
  • Contribute creative ideas around messaging, pacing, storytelling, and visual execution.
  • Support evergreen campaigns alongside major seasonal launches, including holiday campaigns.
  • Occasionally participate in shoots, content creation, or on-set production as the team grows.
  • Help evolve creative processes and contribute to the overall quality of the team's output.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of professional video editing experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing modern digital-first work.
  • Experience editing paid social, performance marketing, or direct response content is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent instincts for pacing, storytelling, hooks, and audience attention.
  • Comfortable taking loose creative direction and turning it into polished, thoughtful work.
  • Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects is a plus).
  • Bonus if you've worked across production, content creation, creative strategy, or on-set filming.

Who Will Be Successful

The strongest candidates are naturally curious and highly creative. They don't just execute edits, they think about why an ad works.

They enjoy piecing together stories from raw footage, have strong visual taste, understand consumer attention, and are excited to collaborate on creative ideas rather than simply producing assets.

Agency or in-house experience can both work well. We're less focused on titles and more interested in the quality of your portfolio, your creative instincts, and your ability to think beyond the edit itself.

Why This Role?

  • Join a rapidly growing consumer brand investing heavily in creative.
  • Work alongside an experienced Performance Creative leader.
  • Help shape campaigns seen by millions of consumers.
  • Opportunity to expand into creative strategy, production, and commercial work over time.
  • Collaborative, highly creative environment with significant ownership.
  • Hybrid NYC role with a flexible, team-oriented culture.
