Job description

Job Summary:

Our firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Structural Engineer. The Project Structural Engineer is responsible for the planning, analysis, design, and coordination of structural engineering projects. This position manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring designs meet applicable codes, client requirements, quality standards, budget constraints, and project schedules. The Project Structural Engineer works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout all phases of project delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience in structural engineering design and project management.

Project Structural Engineer also participates in ongoing safety and equipment training to ensure proper and safe performance of all duties.


This is a full-time position.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform structural analysis and design for commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, and residential projects.
  • Prepare structural calculations, design reports, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Develop structural systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and other construction materials.
  • Coordinate project activities with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Review drawings, calculations, and engineering deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure successful project completion.
  • Participate in project planning, proposal preparation, and scope development.
  • Conduct field investigations, site visits, condition assessments, and structural inspections as required.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and construction-related inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, industry standards, and company quality control procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding project progress, technical issues, and solutions.
  • Assist in mentoring junior engineers, and technical staff.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges while maintaining project objectives.
  • Support business development efforts through client interactions and technical presentations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, and design methodologies.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD, Enercalc, or similar programs.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes.
  • Strong understanding of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS, TMS, and other applicable design standards.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, engineering, and construction documents.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in an agile work environment with personnel delivering from multiple locations or remotely.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
  • 5 years of structural design and project management.
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Professional Engineering license preferred.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License and Evidence of Insurability.
