Job description

Job Summary:
Are you a writer who's passionate about telling stories? Do you have a knack for social media management and an eye for good design? Can you manage multiple projects with competing deadlines? Do you get excited about communicating both efficiently and effectively? We're looking for someone to join the Hutton marketing team who can work with and communicate to a variety of audiences.
Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager and the rest of the marketing team, the Digital Storyteller is responsible for finding and telling meaningful stories about Hutton and the organization's brands. This includes creating website content, managing Hutton social media accounts, coordinating photography, and completing other marketing assignments as needed.
How will you know you're successful? Your content will help grow Hutton's online audience, increase engagement with Hutton brands, and build credibility for Hutton's family of brands.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and be the voice of Hutton through written and published content.
  • Under the direction of the senior marketing manager, manage Hutton social media accounts. This includes community management and an emphasis on engagement.
  • Post, promote, optimize, track and report social and website analytics.
  • Coordinate with professional photographers and videographers to capture images or videos of design and construction projects and other multimedia assets.
  • Occasionally capture photography for internal and external events.
  • Write content for, maintain and manage Hutton's website.
  • Support the video team with script writing, production planning, on-set coordination, and occasionally shooting and editing video.
  • Coordinate email marketing.
  • Produce graphic design deliverables for social media content.
  • Conduct research that will support the duties listed above.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, marketing, digital media, graphic design or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in writing, marketing, social media and/or content creation.
  • Proven experience of adopting and amplifying the voice of a brand.
  • Be familiar with all major social media platforms, including their analytics and social listening tools.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent writing and proactive journalistic or storytelling abilities.
  • Ability to self-direct, chase work, and follow through on assigned tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and respond effectively to shifting priorities.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative and Microsoft Office suites.
  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships with coworkers, internal and external clients who have varied personalities and professional backgrounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Professional photography experience.
  • Graphic design experience.
  • A/E/C industry experience.

Work Environment:
  • This role is performed in an office environment and may involve extended periods of computer-based work.
  • This role will be on site at our Wichita office.
  • We will provide a company laptop and cellphone for this position.
