Job description

Mercedes-Benz of San Diego, a Penske Automotive Group dealership, is looking for an experienced Sprinter Van Technician to join our team and deliver extraordinary customer experiences.
JOIN OUR TEAM
As a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans and commercial vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards, dealership processes, and flat-rate time guidelines while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Pay for this position is based on productivity and qualifications. It starts at a minimum hourly rate of $33.80 per hour. The expected pay range is $36-$55 per flat-rate hour. The expected annual wage is $70,000 - $200,000.
Sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Experience as a Mercedes-Benz Technician, Sprinter Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, or Diesel Technician is preferred.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans or commercial vehicles is highly desired.
  • Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and dealership service operations.
  • ASE certifications and/or Mercedes-Benz certifications are a plus.
  • Genuine interest in providing an exceptional customer experience.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE TABLE
  • Technical Expertise: Diagnose, repair, and maintain Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, commercial vehicles, and related systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnostics: Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, drivability, and computer diagnostic testing to accurately identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
  • Commitment: Deliver a world-class service experience by completing quality repairs efficiently and accurately the first time.
  • Communication: Clearly communicate technical findings and repair recommendations with Service Advisors and dealership personnel.
  • Accountability: Complete repairs within manufacturer time standards while maintaining accurate repair orders and documentation.
  • Safety: Follow Mercedes-Benz repair procedures and comply with all federal, state, local, OSHA, and dealership safety regulations.

Will primarily work in an automotive shop environment. Workspace is covered but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work. May experience loud noise on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
Medium/Heavy Work---Will lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.
This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of time.
This position requires the ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis.
This position involves repetitive motion.
This position requires the ability to talk and hear.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Work evening, weekend, and holiday work hours as required.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications (Certification/Licenses/Registrations)
ASE Certification is preferred
