Auto Body Technician - Full-Time (Temp to Hire)
Location: Crest Hill, IL
Shop Type: Locally owned and growing auto body shop
Primary Work: Heavy fleet vehicles (Amazon Sprinter vans, FedEx box trucks) with some regular vehicle repair
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our growing team. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for a reliable technician who takes pride in quality metal and body repair work. The role focuses primarily on fleet vehicles, offering steady, consistent work with no weekends required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform full start-to-finish auto body repairs
  • Complete metal work, including cutting, panel replacement, and welding
  • Execute body prep and filler (Bondo) work, with a preference for pulling panels and minimizing filler use
  • Ensure repairs meet quality and safety standards
  • Handle both fleet vehicles and some regular passenger vehicles

Requirements
  • Proven experience in auto body and metal repair
  • Must own personal tools
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Certifications not required (considered a plus if applicable)
  • No drug screen
  • No background check

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • No weekends
  • Two paid 15‑minute breaks (10:00 AM & 3:00 PM)
  • One unpaid 1‑hour lunch (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM)

Compensation
$25-$40 per hour, based on experience
