Prestonwood Country Club is now hiring for a Racquet Sports Professional  to join our Tennis Team! We are a privately owned and operated country club nestled inside Preston, a premier residential community located in the heart of Cary, NC. We have 15 tennis courts: 9 on property + 6 in Cary Parkway Facility. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Racquet Sports Professional is responsible for carrying out all of the aspects of the tennis and pickle ball program.  This individual supervises all tennis and pickle ball play, provides competent tennis & pickle ball instruction for all individuals, groups and all levels of players.  The Racquet Sports Professional is expected to enthusiastically encourage tennis & pickle ball participation through promotion of club events, clinics, and team matches.  They will represent the club in professional tennis & pickle ball activities on the local, state or national levels as time permits.  Stimulating the growth of the tennis and pickle ball  program is a priority for the Racquet Sports Professional.
PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Supervise all tennis & pickle ball play by :
    • Greeting and assisting members, guests and visitors as they arrive or depart
    • Take court reservations by members over the phone or in person
  • Control play, keep court times on schedule and verify that all players have checked in and registered their guest.
  • Provide private and group tennis & pickle ball instruction to members.
  • Assist in all aspects of running the tennis shop by performing the assigned duties of the tennis shop attendant as specified by the Director of Tennis Operations.
  • Assist in all aspects of maintaining the tennis & pickle ball courts and tennis facilities including the assigned duties of tennis maintenance by inspecting the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and keeping the courts neat and clean at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining and repairing the necessary equipment for the maintenance and upkeep of the tennis courts/facilities.
  • Develop, organize and run junior tennis leagues.
  • Assist in planning, organizing and running all adult and junior events, socials and round robins.
  • String and regrip tennis racquets.  Customize racquets per player’s needs and instructions.
  • Attend weekly tennis staff meetings to achieve communication, planning, and implementation of the tennis program.
  • Maintain current advancements in the tennis industry by attending yearly association workshops.
