Job description

About ELITS

ELITS Canada Inc. is part of Accelerate, within the IVER Group in Sweden. IVER Group has approximately 1,300 employees and continues to grow. As part of Accelerate, you will work at the forefront of technology on exciting digitization and transformation projects with market-leading customers. We are passionate about realizing digital opportunities in the cloud and, together with our customers, closing the gap between aspiration and successful implementation. Communication is an essential part of the work since we collaborate closely with our customers. As an employee at ELITS, you will become part of a great team that responds with humility and takes pride in what we deliver.

About this opportunity:

ELITS is looking for a Senior Java Developer with AI Experience to provide hands on technical leadership to our Montreal development team.

This is a product development role focused on a live software platform. You will combine strong Java and Spring Boot development with technical guidance for a junior and intermediate team, helping shape architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and delivery practices.

We are looking for someone with real backend depth, Kubernetes experience, and the ability to mentor developers through practical guidance and meaningful code review. Strong full stack candidates are also welcome.

Experience with coding agents and AI assisted development is a major advantage. We are interested in candidates who have used agentic workflows to deliver real work and can explain what they have built, configured, automated, or delivered with them.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain Java and Spring Boot backend services, contributing across the stack where needed.
  • Lead practical architecture and design decisions for a live product, with ownership from technical design through production delivery.
  • Work with Kubernetes, containerized applications, and cloud native deployment environments while improving CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, code review, and release practices.
  • Use coding agents and AI assisted development workflows to improve delivery, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation where appropriate.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate developers through technical discussions, feedback, pairing, and constructive code reviews.
  • Collaborate with product and internal stakeholders to turn requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with at least 7 years of professional software development experience.
  • Significant experience in a hands on senior Java, backend, full stack, or technical lead development role, ideally building and evolving a live software product.
  • Strong Java and Spring Boot expertise, including backend service and API design, integrations, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker or comparable container technologies, CI/CD, automated testing, peer code review, and modern deployment workflows.
  • Practical experience using coding agents or agentic workflows to deliver real software work, not only IDE autocomplete or occasional chatbot use.
  • The ability to explain what you have built, configured, automated, or delivered with AI, including custom agent instructions, skills, workflows, prompts, or guardrails where applicable.
  • A demonstrated ability to mentor developers, improve engineering practices, communicate clearly, and balance delivery needs with long term product quality.
Qualities:

At ELITS Canada, great people create great impact. Success in this role comes from curiosity, ownership, and a passion for building practical, scalable solutions. You are someone who:

  • Thrives in a collaborative, cross functional team and communicates with clarity and confidence.
  • Balances strong technical depth with pragmatic, solution oriented decision making.
  • Takes initiative, works independently, and is comfortable owning technical outcomes.
  • Brings structure and discipline to documentation, standards, and operational excellence.
  • Contributes to a culture of trust, learning, and continuous improvement.
Additional information

This role requires close collaboration with ELITS colleagues, customer stakeholders, cloud teams, infrastructure teams, and technical users. Candidates should be comfortable supporting complex enterprise workplace environments and adapting to customer and project requirements.

This position is open to Canadian residents and individuals with a valid work permit in Canada.
