Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and talented professional to join our team as a Transmission Project Manager. This is an opportunity to join Westwood's highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level engineering design services to our clients. This position will be highly impactful in the growth of our power delivery business, the transmission service group, and will be an opportunity for individuals to expand from singular project management into client account management and development. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of engineering design and/or management experience on transmission projects. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of Transmission-focused engineering design projects as well as providing support to others Market representatives in their marketing and business development goals.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
  • Manage the engineering and financial aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
  • Prepare scope and estimates for proposals and statements of qualifications to utility clients.
  • Develop project work plans and budget projections to effectively deploy people on project.
  • Review, interpret, and act upon business metrics. Including backlog, work in process, account receivables, work bookings, and revenue.

  • Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects
  • Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
  • Collaborate with the department management to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures which reflect best engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain great relationships with our existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical, Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • 4+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
  • Professional disposition and the ability to be open-minded when it comes to planning and execution of projects being worked by staff.
  • Must be able to independently direct a team of Engineers & Engineering Technicians while maintaining work product quality, consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and understanding of its integration into daily activities.
  • Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry-relevant standards
  • Understanding of industry design software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project)

For Preferred Consideration (Not Required):

  • Active PE or PMP licensure
  • Experience leading an engineering team, demonstrating proficiency in resource management and delegation of engineering tasks.
  • Experience providing technical direction for a department/organization in field of expertise.
