The Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach: Women's Rowing. This is a full-time (1.00FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

Key Responsibilities:

• 1. Scouts future opponents, retrieves film and develops scouting reports for the Head Coach of a NonRevenue Olympic sport
• 2. Provides consultation and expert advice to head coach and team members.
• 3. Prepares, plans, conducts, and evaluates practice sessions and teaches individuals and groups of players specific tasks and skills during season and off-season.
• 4. Coordinates, oversees and participates in the recruitment of student-athletes including negotiation of scholarship offers, distribution and communication of recruiting information, off campus visits to assess talent and meet with prospective student-athletes and their parents.
• 5. Ensures compliance with University policy, state and federal regulations and NCAA, PAC12 rules and regulations.
• 6. Plans long and short term team objectives under the leadership of the head coach.
• 7. Establishes and reinforces requirements for team members in terms of academic and athletic progress.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Previous coaching experience OR Elite competitive experience OR Collegiate rowing experience
• CPR/AED Certification within 6 months of hire
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to communicate in both written and verbal form
• Strong teaching skills
• Strong computer skills
• Proven excellence in problem solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a manner that shows respect and inclusivity for student-athletes, student-workers, colleagues and all stakeholders.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
