Senior Associate Risk Manager

As a Principal Risk Associate at Capital One you'll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Principal Risk Associates at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable.

Principal Risk Associates at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Risk Consulting to one or more Business Areas relative to their business lines and provide advice and guidance as required

  • Client Management - Develop and leverage key relationships with stakeholders that enable collaboration across the enterprise

  • Document and understand internal and external reporting requirements; establish, enhance and execute the reporting process,

  • Align processes with Capital One Requirements and frameworks by understanding expectations and adjusting processes as necessary.

  • Write and revise documents such as policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Develop and enhance processes, tools, templates, and job aides. Write, contribute to, edit, and deliver presentations that aide in the design, development, refinement, and usage of risk methods

  • Collaborate effectively across multiple organizations such as Operational Risk

  • Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Business Risk Offices,

  • Operational Risk Sub-Steward organizations, Information Technology,Basel Program, Internal Audit, Regulator Relations, etc. to achieve objectives.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in project or process management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Project or process management

  • At least 1 year of experience in Risk Management

  • At least 2 years of experience in Presentation/Communication

  • At least 1 year of experience in Change management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Riverwoods, IL: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Risk Associate











Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
