Job description

Role and Responsibilities
  • Supervise a group of 2 or more individuals or managers within the Compliance & Risk group, setting direction and driving across the Compliance Operations team to meet goals.
  • Manage compliance activities for NERC registered projects.
  • Track and complete regulatory filings for NERC registered projects.
  • Work with NERC Implementation team during construction phase of projects to complete project registration with applicable entities.
  • Lead meetings with various stakeholders, including clients, EPC contractors, engineering teams, and more.
  • Manage workflow for Compliance Analyst and Compliance Project Team.
  • Define team direction. Develop, resource and manage large scope and long-term projects, making resource, scope, and delivery tradeoffs as necessary. Review work products and progress to ensure success.
  • Facilitate meetings with external stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Resolve issues within and across teams. Mentor team and lower-level managers on job specific roles, communication, and collaboration.
  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. Develop compensation planning, career coaching, training, and administer company policies for the team.
  • Working with other senior managers, drive cross-functional team improvement initiatives to optimize the business, and propose updates to division policies. Support implementation of strategic directions within the team.
  • Providing support for various business development leads to help company achieve goals.
  • Ability to support regulatory audits and provide guidance to Compliance & Risk team and client.
Required Qualification & Education
  • 2-4 years management experience
  • Minimum 3 years renewable energy industry experience in asset management, business management, contract management, compliance, or operations roles
  • 4+ years work experience in NERC Compliance
  • Proven documentation, presentation, and communication skills with working teams and senior level management, CEOs, boards of directors
  • University Degree (or equivalent) with 6+ years domain experience, or
  • Masters/Graduate and 4+ years domain experience
  • Degree in business, management, or relevant field preferred
Experience Required
  • 2-4 years management experience
  • 6+ years domain experience
Preferred Experience
  • 5+ years actively managing/supporting a Generator Owner compliance program
  • Working knowledge of photovoltaic system design, wind or battery storage operations and management
  • Regulatory audit experience
  • Second level management of a large team
  • Successful delivery of large cross functional projects
  • Process improvement experience with Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, NERC, FERC, or other reporting obligations for operating projects is a plus

This is a hybrid position based in Reno, NV.

The target hiring range for this position is $135,000-145,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other relevant factors. This range is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute a guarantee of any specific salary.
