Job Summary:
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is committed to promoting health and wellness in a professional environment. They are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst who will analyze business requirements, create technical specifications, and develop mainframe applications while providing support for claims applications.
Responsibilities:
• analyzing business requirements
• creating technical specifications
• developing mainframe applications
• maintaining claims applications
• production on-call support
• technical issue resolution
• serving as a technical subject matter expert for claims systems
• providing expert consultative assistance to Applications management and staff
• supporting implementation of software releases for the Federal Employee Program and/or the BlueCard National Program
Qualifications:
Required:
• A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field is required.
• At least 7 years of programming experience is required.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of system analysis and design experience.
• Must be competent in COBOL, JCL, CICS, MVS, DB2, and SDLC.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio is required.
• Must demonstrate familiarity with Business Writing, Project Management, Time Management and Conflict Resolution and Teamwork concepts and practice.
Preferred:
• Experience in Project Management is preferred.
