About This Role

For over six decades, Indiana Flooring Carpet One has served Anderson and its surrounding communities with pride. This family-owned business, part of the world's largest flooring group – Carpet One cooperative – offers top-tier products, expert installation, and an award-winning customer experience.

We're now seeking an ambitious, customer-centric Sales Professional to join our showroom team. This dynamic role combines retail sales, customer development, design consultation, and project coordination. If you excel at helping customers bring their vision to life and building lasting relationships, this is the ideal opportunity for you.

  • Schedule includes Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM and Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM, with a full-time schedule averaging 40 hours per week
  • Rotate through weekday shifts to support a balanced team schedule and ensure adequate coverage
  • Average 40 hours per week with 3 Saturdays worked per month (an additional weekday off is provided the following week)
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional early or late hours for customer needs, measurements, or installer coordination

What You'll Do
  • Guide customers through flooring selections that align with their style preferences, lifestyle needs, and budget requirements
  • Successfully sell flooring products and related services in the showroom and during in-home consultations
  • Clearly explain product features, warranties, maintenance instructions, and installation procedures
  • Prepare accurate quotes, estimates, and sales orders, including all services necessary for installation
  • Coordinate measurements and installation appointments, following up before and after job completion
  • Process customer payments and deposits in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, including repeat business and referrals
  • Ensure the showroom remains organized and well-maintained, managing product samples as needed
  • Participate in promotions, events, meetings, and ongoing training initiatives
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, collaborating with management as required
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge through manufacturer resources and Carpet One University

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • A genuine passion for sales, customer service, and empowering customers to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Self-driven, open to coaching, and comfortable meeting sales targets
  • Ability to accurately perform calculations related to measurements, pricing, discounts, and commissions
  • Comfortable using computers and technology (Microsoft Office required; RFMS a plus)
  • A reliable vehicle for in-home appointments is essential
  • A professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude are a must
  • Ability to measure and scope customer homes for applicable flooring types
  • Willingness to complete Carpet One University and earn Five Diamond Sales Consultant Certification

Nice To Haves

Previous retail sales experience, particularly in flooring, home improvement, or design, is preferred but not mandatory
