YOUR IMPACT:

We are looking for a seasoned Telecommunications and Technology industry strategist to join the OpenText Industry Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy organization. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Industry GTM Strategy, this role is critical in shaping OpenText's global TMT sector strategy focused on Telecommunications and Technology and how OpenText defines and develops AI industry solutions therein.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:

  • Shape how OpenText defines and builds GTM messaging related to industry solutions and services, grounded in a deep understanding of client needs and market dynamics.
  • Bridge technical concepts and complex patterns into clear, compelling business value.
  • Embed with field sales teams to drive enablement, sharpen account planning, and support high-impact customer engagements.
  • Serve as a continuous feedback loop between the field and R&D/product management, surfacing market shifts and evolving requirements in real time.
  • Build industry solution messaging and core narratives that activate sales and marketing with precision and impact.
  • Represent and champion OpenText industry solutions at major events, tradeshows, and analyst engagements, building credibility and driving awareness with key influencers.
  • Maintain a rigorous pulse on the industry, including market segmentation, competitive dynamics, and emerging signals, to keep the GTM strategy sharp and ahead of the curve.
  • Represent OpenText in industry workgroups, committees, and standards bodies, elevating the company's voice where it matters most.
  • Partner across product, sales, marketing, and alliances as a trusted strategic advisor, connecting the dots to drive alignment and accelerate outcomes.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • 8-15 years of relevant experience across technical GTM functions, including sales, product/industry marketing, product management, and professional services
  • Bring firsthand experience engaging with telecommunications providers, including wireless carriers and network infrastructure, along with technology software/hardware/services providers
  • A genuine curiosity about AI developments and the ability to connect emerging tech trends to customer requirements and solution development priorities.
  • Proven experience tackling industry-specific challenges across data, AI, information management, and/or cybersecurity
  • Ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into outcome-driven solutions that resonate with buyers
  • Track record building and delivering industry messaging to key audiences through GTM campaigns, field sales plays, and executive-level presentations
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Deep fluency in industry innovations, emerging trends, and the competitive landscape
  • Experience with definition of standards, working in forums, councils, steering committees is a plus
  • Combine deep industry knowledge with proven OT product expertise also a plus

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $143,400 USD - $215,000 USD; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.

California Residents: The pay range above is a reasonable estimate of salary based on pay scale, candidate experience, skills, and education. In addition to the comprehensive benefits noted above, the role may be eligible for bonus or commissions.
