AWS is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect to serve as the dedicated SA partner for our Financial Institutions and Credit Unions territory in the AWS U.S. Nonprofits NFICU sub-vertical with $12M+ combined Annualized Revenue across 5 active AWS engagement pillars.

In this role, you will d the broader territory account team (including AWS Professional Services, Customer Solutions, and AWS executive sponsors) to lead the territory AWS technical strategy across an integrated multi-pillar engagement: GenAI Full-Stack, Cloud Migration, Professional Services, and Amazon Connect.

You will join the AWS WWPS U.S. Nonprofits Solutions Architecture organization — a team that has invested heavily in data-driven SA management, Kiro CLI / agentic-AI tooling for territory and account work, the GenAI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) accelerator mechanism for moving customer PoCs to production, and a strong Sales-SA partnership culture that treats AE quota success and SA technical-advisor outcomes as one shared mission.

The right candidate brings 5+ years of customer-facing technical-advisor or Solutions Architect experience, deep multi-service AWS technical breadth with substantive depth in GenAI on AWS (Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, Amazon Q, Amazon SageMaker), and the judgment and customer-advisor altitude to operate as the technical lead on multi-million-dollar customer relationships. Prior financial services technical experience — fraternal benefit society, life-insurance, wealth-management, or comparable regulated FinServ-adjacent context — is a strong plus, as is direct experience with security-architecture and AI-platform engagements in regulated environments.

• Own the customer's AWS architectural roadmap end-to-end — discovery → reference architecture → proof-of-concept design → production launch → operational handoff to Customer Solutions Manager (CSM). Author and publish the Workload Solution Document, Architecture Decision Records, and security-and-compliance artifacts that the customer adopts as the canonical AWS-side technical record.
• Apply the AWS GenAI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) + AI Development Life-Cycle (AIDLC) accelerator mechanism to move customer GenAI proof-of-concept work into production-launched outcomes.
• Partner deeply with AWS Professional Services on customer active ProServe engagements — providing pre-SOW architectural input, mid-engagement technical guidance, and post-engagement production-readiness review.
• Translate customer mission, regulatory environment, and operating model into AWS architectural decisions
• Operate the Sales-SA partnership cadence with the territory Account Executive — weekly account-team standups, monthly business reviews, quarterly strategic-planning cycles, and ad-hoc executive-engagement support. Mirror the Sales-SA operating model that's already working on the Membership and broader NFICU sub-verticals.
• Drive opportunity-pipeline integrity on customer active engagements — keep the multi-pillar opportunity set forecast-honest, keep stale opps moving or honestly retired, and keep the AE bench fed with SA-led architectural advancement actions every week.
• Adopt and promote the NPO SA org's Kiro CLI + MCP toolchain for account-management automation — Kiro CLI for customer-engagement preparation, AWSentral / Outlook / TFC-Hub MCP servers for opportunity / activity / TFC tracking. Reduce administrative overhead so technical-advisor hours go to customer outcomes.
• Contribute to the AWS NPO Technical Field Community (TFC) — participate in the bi-weekly Kiro demo-build program, the SA-AE mock customer call program, and the GenAI Accelerator Initiative. Where customer engagements yield reusable patterns (e.g., financial-services GenAI architectures), lift those patterns into TFC content that benefits the broader NPO SA bench.
• Travel approximately 25-35% for in-person executive briefings, customer workshops, on-site architecture reviews, and joint working sessions, plus AWS / nonprofit industry events such as AWS Imagine for Nonprofits.

A typical week as a territory SA might include a Monday morning standup with the territory Account Executive to review the week's customer-engagement actions; a Tuesday architecture-review session with the customer enterprise architecture team to scope a new agentic-AI use case on Bedrock AgentCore; a Wednesday technical-deep-dive with customer CISO team on the security projects and the AWS Professional Services delivery plans; a Thursday-morning block of Kiro-CLI-automated account-management work that surfaces the multi-pillar opportunity advancement actions; a Thursday-afternoon working session with the AWS Bedrock service team to align customer GenAI roadmap with the latest service capabilities; and a Friday close-of-week cadence with NFICU Sales Manager and SA Manager on customers overall account trajectory and any executive-engagement actions for the next week. Across the month you also block time for in-person trips to customer locations, Workload Solution Document writing on the SCB Financial AI Platform expansion, GenAIIC partner working sessions, and TFC contributions that scale your impact beyond territory accounts into the broader NPO SA org.

You will join the AWS Worldwide Public Sector U.S. Nonprofits (NPO) Solutions Architecture organization — the team responsible for helping mission-driven nonprofit institutions across the United States use AWS to expand their impact on the communities they serve. Our customers are the country's largest membership associations, federally-aligned nonprofit financial institutions, credit unions, faith-based organizations, healthcare and education foundations, public-broadcasting organizations, environmental and humanitarian nonprofits, and the social-services agencies that operate at the heart of the U.S. social safety net. The technical decisions our customers make — about cloud migration, GenAI adoption, contact-center modernization, data strategy, and security — directly affect the mission outcomes they deliver: members served, donors connected, beneficiaries reached, and lives changed. You will be a member of the Nonprofits Financial Institutions and Credit Unions (NFICU) sub-vertical SA team within the NPO SA organization. NFICU is the sub-vertical that supports nonprofit financial services foundations, fraternal benefit societies, top U.S. credit unions, and adjacent FinServ-aligned NPO accounts.

We've invested heavily in data-driven SA management. We've built and adopted the AWS NPO GenAI Accelerator mechanism — a working-group-led initiative that integrates the AWS GenAI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) and AI Development Life-Cycle (AIDLC) frameworks into a repeatable customer-engagement playbook for moving nonprofit GenAI proof-of-concept work into production launches. We run an agentic-AI tooling culture — Kiro CLI, Quick Desktop, and MCP servers (AWSentral, Outlook, TFC Hub) are everyday tools the team uses for territory and named-account management, opportunity progression, customer-engagement automation, and force-multiplied SA hours. We host the AWS Imagine for Nonprofits flagship conference annually and contribute org-wide to its agenda, technical content, and customer round‑tables. And we're deeply invested in the AWS Technical Field Community (TFC) — running an SA-AE mock customer call program for SA development, a bi-weekly Kiro demo-build program for SA org-wide capability development, and structured mentoring relationships.

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
• Experience working with end user or developer communities
• Experience managing relationships with SAP customers and partners
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Cloud ERP and Cloud ERP Private
• Experience in SAP clean core design concepts, including design and build using non-SAP technologies in domains such as Generative / Agentic AI, and data & analytics

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
