Job description

Mechanical BIM Modeler – Piping & HVAC

Location: Phoenix, AZ Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical BIM Modeler to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing and coordinating mechanical piping and HVAC systems using Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows.

This position will work closely with engineers, designers, project managers, and other trades to create accurate, constructible models and drawings for commercial, industrial, or building projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D mechanical BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
  • Model and coordinate HVAC systems, mechanical piping, ductwork, equipment, and related components.
  • Produce accurate mechanical plans, sections, details, schedules, and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate mechanical models with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
  • Identify and resolve design conflicts and potential clashes within the BIM environment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Assist engineers and project teams with design development and construction documentation.
  • Maintain model accuracy, standards, families, and project organization.
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and communicate modeling issues effectively.
  • Review models and drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project standards.
  • Support project teams throughout design and construction phases.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical BIM modeling, drafting, or design.
  • Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit MEP.
  • Hands-on experience modeling HVAC and mechanical piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and construction documents.
  • Understanding of BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical/HVAC construction practices is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial, industrial, healthcare, semiconductor, data center, or large-scale building projects.
  • Experience with mechanical equipment, piping systems, ductwork, hydronic systems, and HVAC distribution.
  • Experience creating or modifying Revit families.
  • Familiarity with BIM standards, model coordination, and construction documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience and technical qualifications.
