Job description

La Jolla LASIK Institute

Medical Biller

Help us take La Jolla LASIK Institute to the next level.

"As CEO of La Jolla LASIK Institute, I am looking for a talented and experienced medical biller. The successful individual in this critical position will be responsible for properly coding and billing in a timely fashion.   As we significantly grow our LASIK practice during the next few years, detail oriented and efficient and accurate medical billing will make a big impact on the company's overall success."

Angela Nahl, MD, CEO

At La Jolla LASIK Institute, we are committed to our core values:

Integrity in our medical and business dealings builds trust and lifelong relationships

Service to our patients is our passion

Precision in measurement and procedures brings us world-class results

These values are alive at our company and we live them every day while pursuing our purpose of "We don't just improve vision. We make dreams come true."

For the "A player" looking for something special and who can answer "yes" to all of the following questions, this is the opportunity for you.

Do you live by the expression "Say what you are going to do and do what you've said?"

Can you balance listening and understanding with the need to be firm?

Are you comfortable and confident in a high-profile role within the organization?

When the game is on the line, do you want the ball in your hands?

Is it more important for others to respect you than to necessarily be your friend?

Do you hate office politics as much as we do?

Are you seeking an atmosphere of open and direct communication, clear and mutually established priorities and expectations, and a culture of performance and accountability?

Are you professional and results driven?

Are you committed to win?

Do you exceed people's expectations on a regular basis?

Do you have a passion to succeed?

Do you want to make a big mark on the success of our company?

Do you want to work at a company that is driven to reshape its industry?

If you answered "yes" to these questions, we want to meet you!

Our Company

La Jolla LASIK Institute is a successful locally-owned and privately-funded eye institute. With a highly personalized and medically world-class system of patient care, La Jolla LASIK Institute makes dreams come true for people frustrated with the limitations of glasses and contact lenses. While many LASIK companies have gone out of business or are struggling mightily, La Jolla LASIK continues to grow and is positioned to continue to more than double revenues again this year.

The Position

La Jolla LASIK Institute is seeking a professional and high-performing medical biller and front office administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position will be hands-on in all aspects of the business, with a primary focus on insurance billing, credentialing and claim submissions. In addition, the front office administrator is expected to be the first step in creating an amazing patient experience. You will balance a consistently positive attitude towards patients with a determined, relentless pitbull attitude in dealing with insurance claims.

At La Jolla LASIK Institute, your previous experience, demonstrable track record of success and ability to take a task from concept to complete are most important. We're looking for someone who will excel with the following responsibilities:

Adept at insurance billing, verification and credentialing.

Tenacious, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to take a task from start to finish with little oversight.

Expert knowledge of ICD10 codes and billing modifiers.

Take claim denials, close the loop and resubmit. Perform all follow-up duties associated with billing, adjustments, and collections.

Create accurate reports for accounts payable and receivable.

Answer inbound calls, schedule appointments and address patient concerns to allow the staff to continue to provide excellent patient care.

Create, implement and manage an orderly record keeping and filing system.

Apply

If you feel you are an outstanding, professional medical biller  and would like to join a dynamic, growing company, please submit your resume, cover letter, and a joke (so we know you read all the way to the bottom and are not just spamming us) through the website.

Phone calls are not accepted.
