THE WORK
Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented level 2 Systems Engineer-IT with a Secret clearance to work from our Boulder, CO location.
Join a team where your network expertise will keep the sensors that watch the sky running flawlessly, give our warfighters the split-second advantage they need, and help keep the world safe. SBIRS and the Next-Gen GEO OPIR ground stations form the backbone of the United States' missile-warning architecture.
By delivering near-real-time, high-confidence detection of ballistic missile launches and other hostile trajectories, these systems provide life-saving early warning for the warfighter, enable rapid decision-making, and support cueing of defensive interceptors and command-and-control assets. Your work will directly protect troops, allies, and critical infrastructure worldwide.
As Systems Admin you will:
Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
Have experience with both Linux and Windows system administration, including installing, patching, troubleshooting and hardening Linux and Windows operating systems (both bare-metal and virtual machines)
Have experience with System Security Implementations.
Interact with users and evaluates vendor products.
Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
This is an EMERGING PROFESSIONAL (level 2) ROLE where candidates typically require 1+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.

Basic Qualifications
Security+ Certification
Experience with both Linux and Windows system administration, including installing, patching, troubleshooting and hardening Linux and Windows operating systems (both bare-metal and virtual machines)
Experience with System Security Implementations.
Active Secret clearance is required prior to start and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
Desired skills
Proficiency in working with OpenShift and containers
Proficiency in working with AWS Cloud components and services
Proficiency in cyber security and Splunk
Configuration and management of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management
Understanding of server hardware, storage systems, and backup solutions
Experience with operational ground systems
Be a team player and work in a collaborative team environment
Desire to work in a fast paced, mission-focused environment
Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $80,600 - $139,840. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
