Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Purchase goods, materials, and services the meet or exceed the expectations of the organization, considering price, quality, and delivery.

LOCATION This position requires on-site work at a Gentex facility. This role is not eligible for remote work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Purchase goods, materials, and services that meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Request and evaluate supplier quotations.
  • Perform cost analysis on good purchased through should cost, competitive bid, and/or cost breakdown analysis.
  • Generate purchase orders that comply with company requirements.
  • Communicate and work to mitigate any supply problems which may impact our business operations.
  • Act as the interface between suppliers and other departments at Gentex.
  • Identify risks and drive solutions to mitigate risks and escalate when needed.
  • Monitor market trends and drive favorable actions for Gentex.
  • Develop and implement cost reductions to ensure favorable Purchase Price Variance (PPV) targets are achieved.
  • Manage supplier relationships and insure two-way professional relationships exist.
  • Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback.
  • Identify and assess new suppliers that can meet the cost, quality, and delivery expectations for Gentex.
  • Other duties as assigned.

HOW YOU'LL DO IT

  • Knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.
  • Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Planning, negotiations, and contract management experience.
  • Good technical knowledge of Purchasing and ERP systems.
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations well.
  • Manage and maintain required documentation.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships.
  • Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3--5 years professional experience.
  • 1-3 years of purchasing experience.
  • English fluent, and other language is a plus.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • Requires a person who is self-motivated.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Oracle software experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of your time.
  • Commodityspecificexperience and knowledge.Labor or IT software a plus.
  • Automotive industry experience.
