Professional Group information

What is a professional group?

Professional groups are organizations or associations made up of individuals who share the same profession or occupational interests. These groups offer networking opportunities, professional development, resources, and support to their members. They often organize events, provide certifications, set industry standards, and advocate for the interests of their profession. Joining a professional group can help individuals stay updated on industry trends, improve their skills, and advance their careers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a professional group member, and why are they important?

To thrive as a member of a professional group, you generally need expertise in your field, relevant industry experience, and appropriate educational qualifications or certifications. Familiarity with collaboration platforms, data analysis tools, and professional software specific to the group's specialty is often required. Strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills help members contribute effectively and build consensus. These skills and qualities ensure productive collaboration, innovative solutions, and the achievement of group objectives.

How does working within a professional group typically influence collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members?

Being part of a Professional Group often means you'll collaborate closely with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and specialties, which fosters a dynamic environment for exchanging ideas and best practices. Regular meetings, workshops, and peer review sessions are common, allowing members to stay informed about industry trends and jointly solve complex problems. This collaborative structure not only enhances team performance but also provides ample opportunities for professional development and networking within your field.

Job description

Become a Partner. Not Just Another Tax Manager.

At Nosal Professional Group, we're looking for more than an experienced Tax Manager—we're looking for a future leader and business partner. Please note this is not a remote position and only looking for candidates that are in the Omaha and surrounding areas.

If you're an experienced CPA who enjoys building lasting client relationships, mentoring others, and helping shape the future of a firm, we'd love to have a confidential conversation.

This isn't simply another management position. It's an opportunity to join a respected, growing CPA firm with a real path to partnership and the chance to make a meaningful impact on our clients, our team, and the future of our firm.

Why Join Nosal Professional Group?

We know experienced professionals have options. Here's what sets us apart:

  • A genuine partner-track opportunity for the right individual.
  • A collaborative, team-first culture where your ideas and contributions matter.
  • Exceptional employee retention. Many of our team members have built long-term careers with us because we value trust, respect, and work-life balance.
  • Flexible hybrid work environment with the understanding that life happens outside the office.
  • Meaningful client relationships where you'll serve as a trusted advisor—not just prepare tax returns.
  • Modern technology and efficient processes that allow you to focus on serving clients.
  • Professional development and continuing education to support your long-term success.
  • The opportunity to help shape the future of a well-established local CPA firm.

If you're looking for a place to build your career for the next decade—not just your next job—you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do

As a Tax Manager, you'll play an important leadership role within the firm while serving as a trusted advisor to a diverse client base.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of business and individual tax clients.
  • Reviewing complex federal and multi-state income tax returns.
  • Providing proactive tax planning and consulting services.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Researching and resolving complex tax issues.
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing professional staff.
  • Reviewing work, providing coaching, and helping develop future leaders.
  • Collaborating with firm leadership on strategic client matters.
  • Assisting with business development and firm growth initiatives.
  • Helping shape the future direction of Nosal Professional Group.

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is technically strong, relationship-focused, and excited about becoming part of the firm's future leadership.

Qualifications include:

  • Active CPA license.
  • 7–8+ years of recent tax experience in a public accounting CPA firm.
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation.
  • Experience reviewing returns for:
    • Individuals
    • Partnerships
    • S Corporations
    • C Corporations
    • Trusts
  • Experience providing tax planning and consulting services.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Previous leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
  • A desire to build a long-term career with the opportunity to become a future partner.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation of $125,000–$150,000+, based on experience.
  • Flexible hybrid work environment.
  • Paid continuing professional education (CPE).
  • CPA license and professional development support.
  • A collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • A realistic and achievable path to partnership.

About Our Culture

At Nosal Professional Group, we believe our people are our greatest asset.

We're proud of the long-term relationships we've built—not only with our clients, but with our employees. Our firm has exceptionally low turnover, and many of our team members have chosen to spend their careers here because of the supportive environment, flexibility, and opportunities for professional growth.

We work hard during busy season, support one another year-round, and believe that great client service starts with taking care of our team.

Ready for More Than Another Tax Manager Position?

If you're an experienced CPA looking for an opportunity to grow beyond management and become part of the future leadership of a respected local firm, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

All inquiries and applications will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.
