Job Description
Job Summary:
The Quality Bench Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections of a variety of components, assemblies, and subassemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards. This role supports production and maintenance teams by identifying non-conformances and ensuring only quality products move forward in the process.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections on parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine inspection requirements.
  • Document inspection results clearly and accurately in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformances; participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure parts conform to customer-specific quality standards.
  • Conduct in-process, first article, and final inspections as needed.
  • Maintain inspection tools and ensure calibration records are up to date.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure a clean and organized inspection area compliant with safety and 5S principles.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands on quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace quality standards.
  • Familiarity with basic computer systems and inspection software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, ERP/QMS systems).

Preferred:
  • CMM operation/programming experience helpful, but not required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is primarily performed at an inspection bench or work table in a manufacturing or repair facility.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/sit for extended periods.
  • May be exposed to oils, solvents, and moderate noise.

This position is subject to ITAR regulations; candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
