Location: Allen Park, MI | Hybrid - 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Type: 12+ Month Contract | W2 Only

Summary
We are seeking a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer / UX Researcher to join a high-impact UX modernization initiative focused on transforming digital experiences for internal and enterprise users. This role will lead end-to-end user research efforts, partnering closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to uncover user needs, influence product strategy, and deliver human-centered solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in ambiguous environments, possess strong service design expertise, and be passionate about translating complex user journeys into actionable insights that drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full UX research lifecycle, including discovery research, concept validation, usability testing, and post-launch evaluations.
  • Plan, recruit, conduct, and analyze both qualitative and quantitative user research studies.
  • Apply appropriate research methodologies including interviews, surveys, usability testing, diary studies, card sorting, tree testing, and contextual inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain customer journey maps, service blueprints, personas, and other service design artifacts.
  • Synthesize complex research findings into clear, actionable recommendations for product and business stakeholders.
  • Translate research insights into user stories, product requirements, and strategic design recommendations.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, UX/UI Design, and Engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Present research findings and recommendations through compelling storytelling and executive-level presentations.
  • Influence product strategy by advocating for customer needs and evidence-based decision making.
  • Manage research operations activities including participant recruitment, screening, incentives, repositories, and study logistics.
  • Mentor team members on user-centered design principles, research best practices, and ethical research standards.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusive design, privacy compliance, and ethical research practices.
  • Support the continuous evolution of UX processes, methodologies, and design culture across the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Design, Information Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of UX research experience supporting complex digital products, applications, or services.
  • Strong experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative research studies.
  • Expertise in end-to-end research planning, execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience creating customer journey maps, personas, service blueprints, and other service design deliverables.
  • Proficiency with UX research and collaboration tools including Figma, Dovetail, Miro, UserTesting, UserZoom, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, independently define research strategies, and drive initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience translating research findings into product requirements and user stories.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), inclusive design principles, and data privacy requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, design, and engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within Financial Services, FinTech, Automotive Technology, or enterprise software environments.
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, Qualtrics, or Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience presenting UX strategy, product recommendations, and research initiatives to executive leadership.
  • Knowledge of emerging UX methodologies, AI-powered research platforms, and evolving design technologies.
  • Experience helping establish or scale UX research operations programs.
