Essential Functions:
As a Bridge Engineer, you will be involved with the design of culverts, bridges, retaining walls and other transportation structures, and will work with our team of recognized industry experts.
  • Design bridges, culverts and retaining walls
  • Plan production including 3D Modeling and CADD
  • Load rating analysis of bridges
  • Utilize structural design software
  • Prepare structural evaluation studies, structure-type studies, and similar reports
  • Computation of estimated quantities, plan notes, and development of cost estimates
  • Site visits to support the design process

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering (structural focus is a plus)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification with the intent to obtain Professional Engineer Certification, preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D is favorable
  • Proficient with Microsoft software, to include Word and Excel
  • This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer while performing engineering design, analysis, and documentation tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and by telephone.
  • Occasional walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, reaching, and carrying materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to visit project sites, treatment facilities, and construction locations, which may require traversing uneven terrain, navigating active work zones, and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
