GENERAL STATEMENT
OF JOB:
Dutchess BOCES' Educational Resources is looking for Professional Development Specialist to enhance our Team! An Educational Resources Professional Development Specialist will facilitate professional development through workshops, consultancies, roundtables and in district trainings as assigned throughout Dutchess County. S/he will work with other Professional Development Specialists to design, implement and evaluate a variety of professional learning opportunities. This is a 12-month entry level administrative position. The candidate should hold a 7 -12 Science certification and have or will have their administrative certification. Candidates who are fluent in current technology integration and/or have experience with ENL students, special education and/or literacy are encouraged to apply.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Plan and facilitate training in a variety of areas, especially science standards, content and concepts, instruction, assessment techniques, including authentic and formative, culture/climate, and/or technology.
โ€ข Supports training and initiatives connected to science, including new standards and assessments, as well as Social Emotional Learning benchmarks, the Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education Framework, Literacy, and the Literacy Briefs, Numeracy Briefs, and other initiatives as needed.
โ€ข Provide modeling for and/or mentoring of teachers in curriculum planning and delivery that engages students in inquiry and critical thinking skills.
โ€ข Provide in district support as needed to Dutchess County school district educators, including administration, in the areas of instruction, curriculum writing and other topics, as requested
โ€ข Attend training or professional development opportunities in or outside of New York State.
โ€ข Design, plan, and facilitate student enrichment activities including conferences, debates, and other functions.
โ€ข Support planning and implementation of countywide and agency initiatives
